"Desh Ki Mitti" is a hero's remembrance of his country's soil and is sung beautifully by Sonu Nigam and Anuradha Shriram. A number that deserves a peaceful hearing, it is soft and pretty effective due to melodious tune.

CONFIDENCE: Once all village people decided to pray for rain.

On the day of prayer all people gathered and only one boy came with an umbrella....

TRUST: Trust should be like the feeling of a one year old baby when you throw him in the air; he laughs.....because he knows you will catch him....

HOPE: Every night we go to bed, we have no assurance to get up alive in the next morning but still we have plans for the coming day...

Manager & Canteen boy ...

Senior Manager working in an MNC, as usual after lunch goes to the cafeteria for coffee. He relaxes in canteen. He sees a canteen boy cleaning tables there.

To kill time he decides to have fun with him. He calls him.

Senior Manager - (Asks Canteen boy) : How much do you earn?

Canteen boy smiles...

Senior Manager - What are your future plans?

Canteen boy keeps quiet...

Senior Manager - Where do you see yourself 10 years down the line?

Canteen boy gives a cold stare.

Senior Manager - Jab mai Bangalore aaya tha tab mere paas bhi kuch nahi tha.... Aaj mere paas kya nahin hai...

A Junior Software engineer, a Senior Software engineer and their Project Manager are on their way to a meeting. On their way through a park, they come across a wonder lamp. They rub the lamp and a ghost appears. The ghost says, "Normally, one is granted three wishes but as you are three, I will allow one wish each".

So the eager Junior Software engineer shouted, I want the first wish. I want to be in the Bahamas, on a fast boat and have no worries. "Pfufffff" and he was gone.

Now the Senior Software engineer could not keep quiet and shouted " I want to be in Florida with beautiful girls, plenty of food and cocktails. "Pfufffff" and he was also gone.

The Project Manager calmly said," I want these two idiots back in the office after lunch at 1.30pm"

Moral of the story is: "Always allow the boss to speak first"

Three things in Life ...

Guiding Souls ...

Guiding souls… is another book by our Prez Dr Kalam with Arun Tiwari. I am in the process of reading this book; but being tempted by the inner thougths that were lying, I could not resist myself without posting a blog. So here it goes ...

In these few pages I have read, I came to know lots of things about lots of things. Let me put some highlights on those ...

Kalam’s philosophy of life is seen in each and every line of the book.

“You are neither earth,water,fire, air and not even ether. Know yourself as consisting consciousness, the witness of these 5?.-Says Astavakra Gita.

“Thoughts do not come from outside..neither the feelings nor images. They come from the soul and go back to the soul-always within the soul”.

On Knowledge he says - "Knowledge is the very fabric of experience".

To answer the question “What is truth?”, Kalam says “Truth is the discipline of the ascetic,the quest of the mystic,the faith of the simple,the ransom of the weak,the standard of the righteous,the doctrine of the meek,the challenge of the mature”.

Talking about globalisation, he says -"The universal power never judges nor criticises. It only accepts us at our own value".

About general human thought process, Dr Kalam says-"What do you think? Are not all your thoughts subjective? Examine your thoughts closely and you will see that they are either desires or fears. Then, there is a polarisation of me and not me. what else?"

I think this book is a must read for someone interested in learning and has a yearning for knowledge ...

Blogs & Blogging ...

Being in the process of Blogging, sometimes I was asking myself "Why this ?", "What does it show of me?",etc. etc. Mention not, there were others who posed the same question to me. And, that time, I had to answer something or the other. Was thinking long, to give that a better shape. Now, it got realised.

For them and for my sometime W' mind (Asks Why and What?), I am glad to give the link here

Being happy does not mean everything is perfect ...

It just means you have decided to see everything beyond imperfections ...

You Should ...

• Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

• Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.
• Spend some time alone. Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.
• Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
• Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll get to enjoy it a second time.
• Trust in God but lock your car.
• A loving atmosphere in your home is so important. Do all you can to create a tranquil harmonious home.
• Read between the lines.
• Share your knowledge. It's a way to achieve immortality.
• Be gentle with the earth.
• Mind your own business.
• Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.
• If you make a lot of money, put it to use helping others while you are living. That is wealth's greatest satisfaction.
• Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a stroke of luck.
• Remember that the best relationship is one where your love for each other is greater than your need for each other.
• Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.
• Remember that your character is your destiny.
